Glasgow Coma Scale

4 steps of assessment

  1. Check for factors interfering with communication, ability to respond and other injuries.
  2. Observe eye opening, content of speech and movements of right and left sides.
  3. Stimulate – spoken or shouted interest, pressure on finger tip, trapezius or supraorbita notch
  4. Assign according to highest response obtained.
