Ideberg classification of intraarticular glenoid fractures

  • Type I: rim fracture. Ia: anterior, Ib: posterior
  • Type II: transverse fracture, extends to axillary border of scapula, inferior fragment displaced with humeral head
  • Type III: oblique fracture, exits at superior border of scapula. Association acromioclavicular dislocation or fracture
  • Type IV: transverse fracture crossing scapula from glenoid, exits medial border of scapular body
  • Type V: type IV and second fracture separating inferior glenoid fragment
  • Type VI: severe comminuted fracture
